Juventus social media hacked, with fake transfer annouced
Juventus announced on Monday that one of their social media accounts had been hacked after a false post claimed that Real Madrid's Turkish teenager, Arda Güler, had signed for the Italian club. The surprise announcement left fans puzzled, as the transfer window had already closed.
Followers of Juve's English account on the platform X saw a photo of Güler at an airport, accompanied by the caption: "Welcome to Juventus, Arda Güler. The rising star of football is now part of the Juventus family." However, the club soon addressed the situation on their Italian account, clarifying that the 19-year-old international would not be joining Juventus anytime soon. "Our Juventus English account has been hacked. Please disregard the false information being shared," the official post on X stated.
Juventus, who are set to face VfB Stuttgart on Tuesday, have started their Champions League campaign strongly, securing a 3-1 home win over PSV Eindhoven and a 3-2 victory at RB Leipzig. Under coach Thiago Motta, the team has been prolific in Europe, scoring six goals in their first two matches. However, their domestic form has been less impressive, with just 11 goals in eight Serie A games.
"There is no difference between the league and the Champions League," Motta said in a press conference on Monday. "We need to maintain the same attitude in every game, as each match presents unique challenges and evolving strategies. Every team faces difficulties against opponents who defend well, and that's why we must give our all and believe until the final whistle. We must keep improving in all areas, both tactically and mentally, and we hope to play good football. That's how we'll have the chance to win."
